Share large spaces in 3D without breaking the browser

Teleport’s new LOD system adapts scene quality to your device in real time, so even the most complex spaces load smoothly, look sharp, and stay easy to explore or share.
Our goal has always been simple: give creators the best-looking reconstructions possible, with no shortcuts. But until now, there’s been a limit. The bigger a capture, the heavier it got. And the heavier it got, the harder it was to share, especially in a browser.
That’s changed.
We’ve launched a new Level of Detail (LOD) system in Teleport. It’s one of the biggest infrastructure upgrades we’ve made, and it quietly solves one of the hardest challenges in 3D content: how do you deliver massive, high-quality captures without compromising speed or usability?
With LOD:
This matters if you’ve ever tried to explore a large and dense capture on a slower laptop, or load a detailed web tour on spotty Wi-Fi. Before, you might hit a lag spike or worse, a crash.
As more creators and professionals use Teleport to scan complex environments from museums, factories, construction sites to cultural landmarks, fidelity alone isn’t enough.
Their work needs to be viewed, shared, and explored without friction. This means that performance has to scale. Our new LOD system ensures that it does.
Whether it’s:
LOD ensures it loads fast, looks great, and responds instantly across devices of varying compute power.
Think of it like vision: When you look at something far away, your eyes don't need to resolve every tiny detail. They focus on what’s important. As you move closer, you pick up more precision.
Teleport now works the same way. Our new renderer doesn’t just load the whole scene and hope for the best.
All of this happens in real time, in your browser, without downloads or plugins. If you’ve created a capture recently, it’s already using LOD.
.ply
files tooYou can now take advantage of LOD even if you're uploading your own Gaussian splat .ply
files.
If you’ve built your splats using external tools or pipelines, just upload them to Teleport. We’ll automatically apply our Level of Detail system during processing.
This means:
Whether you create in Teleport or bring your own .ply
files, you get the same high-performance experience.
Freedom to capture more
You’re no longer forced to crop, compress, or shrink captures just to make them usable.
Faster collaboration
Capture are now instantly explorable by clients, collaborators, or stakeholders with no special setup, or high-end machines required.
Confidence that it just works
Performance tuning is automatic. As a creator, you don’t have to tweak settings or optimise for different devices. Just capture and we take care of the rest.
Teleport now brings you high-fidelity 3D, with the performance to match. We see it as a meaningful step toward making 3D content more accessible. By automatically adjusting detail based on your device, you can ensure that your captures remain visually clear and easy to explore without extra effort from your viewers.
Want to try LOD right now? Open any Teleport scene and click the quality selector (look for the icon in the corner of the viewer).
Make sure that Best quality and High Definition are selected. LOD adjusts in real time based on your device and viewing position, giving you the best possible quality without slowing your device. LOD is currently available on desktop only.
