Teleport Video Creator Overview and Guide

The Teleport Video Creator lets you quickly create customized videos from your captures. Using intuitive camera adjustments, unique visual effects, and precise animation through keyframes, you can produce high-quality videos directly within Teleport.

Accessing the Video Creator

To open the Video Creator:

  1. Go to your Teleport Captures and select the capture you'd like to edit.
  2. Select the ‘Edit Capture’ button in the bottom-right of your capture (pencil icon).
  3. Click the 'Video' button in the Toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

This action opens the Video Creator, where you can start to craft your custom video immediately.

Adjustable Camera Properties

You have control over various camera properties to customize the visual style of your video:

Field of View (FOV): Adjusts the visible area in your capture. Lower values zoom in, and higher values zoom out.

Exposure: Modifies brightness. Increase to brighten darker areas, decrease for darker scenes.

Contrast: Changes the distinction between dark and light areas. Higher contrast sharpens clarity, while lower contrast produces softer visuals.

Saturation: Alters color intensity. High saturation enriches colors, and low saturation yields subdued tones.

Visual Effects Available

Teleport includes specialized visual effects that enhance your editing experience and the final video:

Snapshot:
Captures a screenshot at 50% opacity to aid in aligning or comparing current and previous keyframes. This visual overlay helps you precisely match camera positions and angles.

Click ‘Take Snapshot’ before / after you've created your keyframe to keep the prior keyframe point of view as an overlay as you frame the next shot & keyframe.

Pulse Effect:
Adds a rhythmic white pulse effect across the scene, ideal for synchronizing visuals with background music. Activate this by checking the Pulse box and setting your desired beats-per-minute (BPM) with the Pulse BPM slider.

Animation Tools

The ‘Loop’ option brings a copy of first keyframe onto the final frame, ensuring a consistent and loop-able video is generated.

The ‘Smooth by Timeline’ option will equalize the spacing between the keyframes evenly over the total available frames (240). In other words, 240 / # of keyframes = frame count in between each keyframe.

Importing and Exporting Keyframes

The Import/Export feature allows you to reuse keyframe setups across different Teleport captures.

Exporting: After creating a keyframe sequence, click Export. The tool copies the keyframe data in text format to your clipboard.

Importing: Paste this exported text into the textbox at the bottom of the left-hand Video Creator menu. Then click Import to replicate the same camera movements and property adjustments in another capture.

Note: Keep in mind that captures can vary greatly in size, scale, and layout. Adjustments might be necessary before or after importing keyframes to ensure the movements and framing align correctly.

Understanding the Keyframe System

Teleport’s Video Creator uses a powerful keyframe system to control camera movement and animations smoothly within your captures.

What Are Keyframes?

Keyframes are specific points in the timeline that define camera properties and positions. The Teleport Video Creator automatically animates the transitions smoothly between your set keyframes, creating professional camera movements. You can preview your video and designated keyframes at any time by clicking the play button above the timeline.

How to Create and Edit Keyframes

  1. Use the timeline at the bottom to select the exact frame where you’d like a keyframe to appear.
  2. Adjust camera properties and positioning in the viewport.
  3. Click "Add Keyframe". A blue box will appear on the timeline marking this frame as a keyframe.

Editing Existing Keyframes

To modify, click directly on a keyframe’s blue marker on the timeline.

Adjust properties or reposition the camera view.

You can also move a keyframe by dragging it along the timeline to a new frame position.

Exporting Your Video

Once your video is finalized, exporting is straightforward:

  1. Click Export Settings at the bottom-right of the Video Creator interface.
  2. Choose your preferred Resolution
  3. Select your desired Aspect Ratio (e.g., 16:9 widescreen, 1:1 square, or 9:16 vertical).
  4. Click Render.

Your completed video will appear in your downloads folder when rendering finishes.
