Upload custom images and video to Teleport and watch them turn into 3D reconstructions. Furthermore, your own previous .ply files can be uploaded to Teleport for sharing & viewing across platforms or in VR. Here’s everything you need to know:
How to Get Started
- Log in to your account at teleport.varjo.com.
- Navigate to Captures.
- At the top of your Captures page, you’ll see three buttons:
- Upload Images (for photo datasets)
- Upload Video (for drone or camera footage)
- Upload PLY (for existing reconstructed captures)
You’re now ready to upload your custom content.
Photo & Video Uploads for 3D Reconstructions
Use the ‘Upload Images’ or ‘Upload Video’ buttons to submit your own footage and photograph sets for 3D reconstruction - no iPhone needed.
Image Upload Guidelines
- Click Upload Images → select a .zip file of photos.
- All images must be in the root folder (no subfolders / subdirectories).
Upload requirements:
- Minimum 50 photos
- Maximum 2,000 photos or total ≤ 5 GB
- Accepted file types: PNG, JPEG, HEIC
Video Upload Guidelines
- Click Upload Video → select a standalone MP4 or MOV file.
Upload requirements:
- Minimum 30 seconds
- Maximum 15 minutes or file size ≤ 5 GB
Once uploaded, Teleport will generate a 3D reconstruction from your video frames.
Note: Fisheye or 360° photo / video is NOT yet supported.
Uploading PLY Files (Host & Share Your Own 3D Scans)
Already have a fully reconstructed capture? Upload your uncompressed PLY file to Teleport to view, share, and integrate with Teleport’s tools.
PLY Upload Checklist
- Ensure you're on the ‘Captures’ page.
- Click ‘Upload PLY’ → select your .ply file.
Requirements:
- Must be uncompressed (no .SPZ or proprietary compression)
- Cannot contain mesh data or custom attributes
Everyone has unlimited PLY Uploads with no impact on your scan allowance.
Once uploaded, your PLY model appears in 'Captures'. From there, you can view & share across platforms or use any of our other platform features (Virtual Tours, Portals, Video Creator, etc.) with your own PLY file.
Upload Allowance & Considerations
Photo & video uploads: each upload counts as one capture toward your monthly allowance.
PLY uploads: free and unlimited.
Example: Upload 1 photo dataset + 1 video = 2 capture usages; upload PLY = no usage.

| Will uploading photos/videos cost extra? | It uses your capture allowance. Uploading a PLY does not. |
